Unfortunately, hiking was not the main purpose of the trip; scoring AP World History essays was. Above is the Lory Student Center, where we graded essays. And graded essays, and graded more essays. And graded still more essays. While the process was honestly informative, there is something that happens to a person’s sanity after they have scored the 200th DBQ essay in three days. In my mind, Lory was transformed from the innocent structure of higher education that you see above into the structure that you see below.

The Lory Student Center: where fun goes to die. That building was like a dementor, sucking all of the happiness out of me whenever I saw it. And yes, I am 35 years old.
